Gabriel Reina, MD

Medical Director, Behavioral Health

Dr. Gabriel Reina was born and raised in Southern California and earned his B.A. in History from Fresno State University. He earned his medical degree at UC Davis where he was a member of the Rural PRIME program that gave him additional opportunities to work in rural communities and develop the skillset to teach the next generation of rural physicians. Dr. Reina completed his Family Medicine residency at Methodist Hospital of Sacramento and was selected as chief resident in his final year of residency. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Dr. Reina is also a National Health Service Recipient.

 

After joining the EDCHC team in 2019, he developed an interest and passion for treating patients with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and is now the Medical Director of Behavioral Health (Psychiatry and STEPS). Dr. Reina’s mission is to treat patients with dignity and respect while providing evidence-based stigma-free treatment for all patients with substance use disorders as well as safe prescribing for chronic pain.

 

In his spare time he enjoys backpacking, cycling and spending time with his family.
