Dr. Andrea Casillas-Chavez is a local, having studied at Sacramento City Community College before relocating to San Diego to finish her undergraduate education. The board-certified family medicine physician earned her medical school degree from Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine, before returning to the area to complete her residency at Methodist & Mercy General Hospital. Dr. Casillas-Chavez participated in many community volunteer and extracurricular activities throughout her schooling and was the recipient of several honors including most recently, the American Academy of Family Physician Outstanding resident award. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Dr. Casillas-Chavez brings a wealth of skill and knowledge to EDCHC, having worked at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, UC San Diego’s student-run, free health clinic as well as WellSpace’s Oak Park Community Health Center in Sacramento.
